Officially signed! China Mobile CPE OTN Equipment Framework Contract

On September 22th, China Mobile announced the winning candidates for the CPE OTN equipment project from 2021 to 2022. Genew Technologies won the most share of the first bid package of CPE OTN equipment project. Recently, the two companies completed the signing of the procurement framework contract, which indicates that Genew Technologies' business in the field of domestic operators has gradually matured, and it also shows that Genew Technologies' F5G products are gradually being recognized by the market.

CPE OTN, as the access terminal equipment of major operators, is an important part of operators' F5G quality private lines. However, for a long time there is no standard for the industry, the OTN forwarding technology, management and control interfaces have been implemented by the vendor’s private solution, which makes it impossible for the CPE OTN to realize the interworking with the other OTN equipment from different vendors. In response to the above problems, the major domestic operators are gradually making technical and test specifications for decoupled OTN equipment, innovatively realizing the interoperability solution between CPE OTNs of different vendors, to meet the needs of fast provisioning and flexible deployment of high-value services.

China Mobile and Genew Technologies jointly explored the application of decoupled CPE OTN in various scenarios such as provincial private network and cloud private network, to solve the problems of inflexible OTN network deployment and long time of service provisioning, and to improve OTN network openness, flexibility and achieve the purpose of the control of cost.

Genew Technologies with its GTN 6800 series won the bid, this equipment is designed with programmable logic chips and has the characteristics of small size, low power consumption, and strong scalability. This series of CPE OTN equipment support OTN, packet and TDM service accesses, and can connect with existing large-capacity private network and metropolitan area network through standard OTU interfaces, to realize flat and simple networking and meet high-efficiency fixed and mobile multi-service, to provide customer large bandwidth, low latency and multi-service access.

In addition, Genew Technologies' CPE OTN product family including GTN6600, GTN6900 and other series of products meets the OTN decoupling requirement in different scenarios. The series of products have also been successfully applied in large overseas operators such as BSNL in India.
